John, who was born in Venice, California, began his professional career at age 15. He's played with top notch rock, jazz, fusion, pop, and blues musicians including members of Canned Heat and Montrose. His bands have toured in and outside of California, and have opened shows for such well known bands as Van Halen. John's solo and ensemble playing has also found its way onto several surfing movie soundtracks.

Along with Hot Pocket member Leon, John played locally in the classic rock band, Ironhorse Exchange, since 2003.
