Jeff Drums Jeff grew up in West L. A. and started playing drums when he was only 8. His jazz-drumming uncle tried out all of his cousins but Jeff was the only one that could play the brush's on the newspaper to the sounds of Ella Fitzgerald and Lionel Hampton. Since way back then, Jeff has played all styles of music but his real love is the groove. So it's not hard to understand why he counts the music of James Brown, Tower of power and similar funk groups as his favorites. In Jeff's earlier musical endeavors, he played in a variety of bands in the LA area. But at one point he did some traveling with a friend and to hang out and rehearse with Chakka Kahn's great funkin band, Rufus, back in the day. One of his other bands, Madenhead, played on the bill with Van Halen at Gazzaries on Sunset and other bands did original recordings that recieved air-time here in LA, so Jeff's been there and back in the music scene in LA. And speaking of going there and back, Jeff spends as much of his spare time as he can in his yacht going to, or from or just chillin it out at the Island. |
